Fetch Fido! Mississippi Canine Drags Home Found Bag of Pot| 0
Demonstrating just one of the many reasons why dogs are generally considered man’s best friend, unless of course your a Mississippi pot dealer whose misplaced his hidden stash; a curious pooch belonging to a Mississippi family came home smelling rather ripe last Saturday – similar to that of a skunk. And no, it wasn’t because the dog was rolling around in some recently deceased road kill. Rather it had more to do with the pound of pot it had found in a large plastic sack, and which Fido had dragged home to his adoring owner.
Now dazed, frightened, and concerned for his family’s safety, the owner of the black Labrador retriever – with a discerning nose for the chronic – called the local Jones County Sheriff’s office to investigate his dog’s recent … discovery.
According to the Sheriff’s Facebook page, “On March 26, 2016 Jones County Deputies were dispatched to the 200th block of Will Hayes Road. The owner of a dog, family pet, at brought to the home a large bag with a substance that was believed to be marijuana. The owner thought it was a bag of trash the dog had brought from somewhere nearby and tore open at the house. When the owner got a closer look he smelled what he thought was marijuana, then saw the leafy substance. It is not known from where the bag was retrieved.”
As the local sheriff department investigates the case to determine where the dog originally found the plastic grocery sack filled with weighed out bags of weed, the pot-sniffing dog remains free to roam the neighborhood.
