Slightly Stoopid Will Team Up With Bob Weir the Day After 420 For Very Special Broadcast

| 0

If you get way too baked on 420 and need to recover the next day, we have the perfect thing for you to watch from your couch.

Slightly Stoopid will be live streaming a very special performance from TRI Studios with legendary Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir sitting in. Weir owns and operates TRI (Tamalpais Research Institute), a multi-million dollar facility known as a “musician’s playpen” because of the unique ways artists can experiment with sound there. Back in 2011, Slightly Stoopid performed at TRI as part of an interview with Tommy Chong that was filmed and released as a DVD for fans.

Fans so revered the performance that the band decided to put on an encore this year. Peter Dante, another cult favorite in the stoner community, will be hosting this year’s event. You may remember Dante from his memorable roles in movies like The Waterboy, Big Daddy, and most definitely Grandma’s Boy. He’ll kick things off at 7 p.m. PST / 10 p.m. EST and from there fans will be treated to a memorable music experience.

Other special guests will include saxophonist Karl Denson (Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz), Angelo Moore (Fishbone, Dr. Madd Vibe), Marlon Asher (Ganja Farmer), and Roger Rivas (Aggrolites). If you’re interested in checking out the event, you can catch it in full HD on the Qello concert streaming app (available on iOS, Android, and most smart TVs) whether you’re at home or on the go.

For fans looking for a refresher course before the new show streams live, Qello will be streaming the original Slightly Stoopid TRI show all day on 420.

This newest concert serves as an appetizer for the band’s 9th annual coast-to-coast tour, with this summer’s edition Return of the Red Eye Summer kicking off in Redmond, WA on June 15th and taking the band through 33 cities. For a full list of tour dates and info on purchasing tickets, visit the band’s website.
