The Force Awakens In These Four Potent Star War Strains| 0
After paying north of $ 4 billion for the Star Wars franchise in 2012 and receiving at least 20 High-THC strains as an unofficial marketing bonus for the new parent company, it’s hard to imagine all of the potential new strain names that are sure to come with the next crop of Disney produced Star Wars films. Cultivating new characters with potentially potent gene pools, Disney plans on releasing both Star Wars: Episode VIII and Star Wars: Episode IX before 2020.
Already rich with tasty strain designations from the Lucas era; Master OG-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca, Han Solo and Darth Vader, I’m thinking dispensaries/collectives are about to see a whole new intergalactic group of hybrids hitting their shelves in the not-too-distant future. Say a Rey OG? Or perhaps a spicy Finn?
In preparation for the upcoming battle between the Force and the Galactic Federation for top honors in the marijuana strain name game, this seemed like an opportune time to look back at four of our favorite Star Wars strains.
Withstanding the test of time like a true warrior, Skywalker OG remains an incredibly popular strain within the ever-changing and fast-paced world of marijuana cultivation. Known for its distinctive fragrance and lofty THC percentage, Skywalker OG is still one of the more sought after strains on the market today. Dispensaries from Colorado to California, that stock the real deal Skywalker OG, can’t seem to keep this strain in stock due to its universal popularity.
A uniquely rare, almost pure Sativa, Deathstar brings together a traditional frosty strain, Sensi Star and Sour Diesel, an East coast strain known for it’s potency and petroleum-like scent. Deathstar is an amazingly therapeutic strain that is 70% Sativa and 30% indica. Prepare for the annihilation of daily anxiety as Deathstar’s cannabinoids blast through the brain’s hypothalamus at the speed of light, allowing this ominously sounding mood enhancer to work its magic on the mind’s soul-destroying target – stress.
Small, round, and stocky, Yoda OG looks like the head of the little green Jedi for which it is named. Just like Yoda’s sprinkling of white wisps of hair, Yoda OG has a lovely covering of white tichromes. Plump and eager for lift off, Yoda OG’s chunky balls of nuggets are wrapped in hairs of yellow, orange, and gold is truly a sight to behold.
“The Force is strong with this one” indeed. Joining another potent Ohio native, Deathstar, known nationally for her sour terpenes and high potency, was crossed with a classic SFV OG Kush, spawning the creation of Jedi Kush; a well-balanced hybrid that leaves little to be desired in the flavor or buzz department. Cracking open a jar Jedi Kush in any room puts the Federation on notice with its skunish, gasoline aroma. After breaking open one of her frosty well cured flowers, a cross of ammonia and blueberry-skunk fills the atmosphere.
