The Realm of Caring Foundation Kicks Off Campaign, “When the Bright Lights Fade”| 0
Hoping to stem the tide of suffering in the NFL, The Realm of Caring Foundation (RoC) has produced a YouTube video meant to shed some much-needed light on a critical bit of research conducted in 2015 by Boston University. Exposing America’s rabid football fans to the breadth and depth of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), RoC’s “When the Bright Lights Fade” campaign aims to educate the general populace about the beneficial cannabinoid known as cannabidiol – a.k.a. CBD.
The noteworthy objective of this campaign is to raise $ 100,000 in 30 days to help fund two separate CBD based studies. For The RoC’s first study, researchers will question present and past NFL players on their overall marijuana use – regardless of whether or not it was for recreational purposes or for self-medicating. The second study drills down on the bioavailability of Cannabidiol in humans and seeks to identify the typical level of CBD in the average adult male after sustained use.
According to The RoC website, “Realm of Caring is working with researchers at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pennsylvania to develop several studies to investigate the impact of cannabinoids on individuals affected by football-related injuries, including symptoms associated with CTE.”
In addition to providing the first critical step forward to further understanding how cannabinoids can help mitigate the risk of chronic traumatic encephalopathy in today’s professional athletes, funds raised during this campaign will help provide future research linked to CTE.
In the below video, The Realm of Caring is asking you to join them on their mission to educate the masses by participating in ‘When the Bright Lights Fade’ campaign.
